3 TEENS SHOT & KILLED IN 5 DAYS IN BRONX - "MAJOR GANG WAR" - according to police sources. This is a picture of 13 yo Jaryan Elliott, one of the murder victims, given to me by friends who later put it up at his memorial on E 187th St. A shame to lose these young lives. Before you blame "teenagers today,"understand in some of these cases these boys were forced into "the life" by grown men using them as pawns in their dirty, illegal & violent schemes. They threaten harm to their families if they don't get involved - like one case I covered where a Bronx high school honor student refused to join the local gang & they ransacked his mothers' apartment. Please don't tell me "it's always been like this." We know that. I believe it doesn't always have to be this way. We can & must do better. #rip to these young men & condolences to their families, friends & loved ones.
