Press release announcing the transition of the Community Garden Project. Greyston transitioned the project to the Yonkers YMCA. Greyson housed the project for 26 years and I’m honored to have worked and provide services to the community for over Two decades.
Thanking: City of Yonkers various departments who made the transition possible, thanking Mayor Mike Spano for his support, Bob Walters, Bob Staub, Channel Harris, Cecilia Bonilla, Jerry Henkins, captain Mulvey-Yonkers Police Department, city councilwoman Shanae Williams, city councilwoman Tasha Diaz, legislator Ruth Walters, senator Andrea Stewart- Cousins, assemblyman Nader Sayegh, Helen Marji, Mara Gross, Ebony, Minister Vicky, Day Brake, Shandra, Renee Milligan, Minister Ruby, Arnaldo Torrez, pastor Elizabeth Lury, joseph Kenneth, Dr. Penny Jennings, Groundworks Green Team, EnviroEARTH Club team members, Charlie Marji, Giselle Gonzague, Karen Tumelty, María José Guzman, Tony Gavan and many others who were at yesterday’s event: (trying remembering so many people. Now, I need to thank Bridgitte, execute director from Groundwork Hudson Valley for making such of effort on attending yesterday’s transition.
Also, I need to thank executive director from the St. Peter’s Day Care Center Mrs. Aida Torrez for her collaboration with the community garden project and for taking so many great photos during yesterday’s transition.
I want to thank executive director Lucria Ortiz and John Thomson of the Yonkers YMCA for their support towards the community garden project; this new venture will be a greater and exciting beginning in a new home.
