Description: This morning at 8:25am while responding to a medical emergency Somers EMS Ambulance 80B3 was involved in a single vehicle accident.
The ambulance was being operated by two EMT’s at the time.
Both crew members were transported to the hospital aboard another Somers ambulance as a precaution with minor injuries.
During this time Westchester EMS was requested for two ambulances.
One handled the original call and the second to help cover the Somers Fire District.
Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corp was also requested to stand-by for a short period.
Multiple Somers Fire/EMS units operated on scene for over 4 hours while the ambulance was removed.
80B3 sustained moderate damage in the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
