SUPER HOT SUN STAMPS: The United States Postal Service released a 20-stamp set of forever stamps show the many faces of the Sun as seen by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO).

The stamps show 10 different images of the Sun that highlight different features on the Sun.

These include solar flares, plasma blasts (that create coronal mass ejections), coronal loops, sunspots, and coronal holes.

Each of these features is best seen with specific wavelengths of light, which is why SDO observes the Sun with 10 different wavelengths including visible, ultraviolet, and extreme-ultraviolet light.
