Westchester County, locally known as "Westchester," has a population nearing one million residents and located just north of New York City
Westchester County is the second-most populous county on the mainland of New York, after the Bronx.
According to the 2010 Census, the county had a population of 949,113, estimated to have increased by 3.3% to 980,244 by 2017.
Westchester County is located in southern New York, also known as Downstate.
It shares its southern boundary with New York City and its northern border with Putnam County.
It is bordered on the west side by the Hudson River and on the east side by the Long Island Sound and #FairfieldCounty, Connecticut

The Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve includes the steep Breakneck Ridge Trail. Kykuit, the Rockefeller family’s opulent hilltop estate, has terraced gardens and 20th-century statues.
Across the Hudson River, Bear Mountain State Park features hiking trails, the Trailside Museums and Zoo and panoramic views from the top of Bear Mountain.
