Infant in critical condition after father jumps from N.Y. parking garage

s)- An infant was left in critical condition after the father fatally jumped from a parking garage while holding him.

A woman called 911 reporting her husband was having a “psychotic breakdown” in a parking garage at approximately 11:46 p.m. Friday.

The man in his 40's went to the top floor of the parking garage with his 1-year-old child, where he ultimately jumped to his death while holding the child, according to the Rochester Police Department.

The South Ave parking garage from which a man jumped to his death on Friday.

The child was rushed to URMC where he remained in critical condition.

The family of three is from out of state and had just arrived in Rochester to visit an ailing family member, according to police.

The incident is being investigated as an apparent suicide and attempted murder.
